【What 師 Said】
SAKUra’s fourth digital single, “What 師 Said.” Since her debut, the composition, arrangement, and production have been handled by Etsuko Yamakawa, one of Japan’s leading songwriters who pioneered a new era of J-POP and continues to captivate a wide range of fans around the world. This song is themed around the “Analects” of Confucius, whom SAKUra deeply respects and admires. It’s a dance track that makes you want to start dancing the moment you hear it, so please enjoy listening while singing along to “The Master said…”! The music video is also super cute, so please check it out if you get a chance!
【SAKUra】
SAKUra is a 15-year-old singer-songwriter. Since her debut in 2021 at the age of 10, she has released four digital singles and two vinyl records (Disk Union). Drawing on the depth of Japanese culture she learned under the guidance of a historian—including the "Sakuradamon Incident," princesses of the Warring States period, and Confucius’s *Analects*—she creates a unique musical world through expressions that seamlessly blend historical depth with a modern sensibility. Her lighthearted, danceable city pop has evolved into a new form of "philosophy pop," born precisely from the authentic perspective of a teenager.
